Meetings

Leader's Meetings are to be held on the first Monday on each
month at 7:30pm
All Leaders are requested to attend. The agendas will include
content and activities
for weekly meetings, as well as planning future events.

Where: Ballou Farm , 55 Cedar Street Douglas
Scouts and Scout
leaders can start arriving at 1:00pm
for a day of games, water
balloon fights and other activities.
Parents and siblings are
welcome come for Dinner which
will be served at 5:00pm
and followed by a court of honor.
Parents are also requested
to contribute a side dish and/or dessert
item. Please contact Mary

Uniform: FULL Class A required for the court of
honor.

Campout - Block Island

September 23,24,25
Departure: Friday Sept, 23, 7:00pm from the Scout Hall
Return: Sunday, Sept, 25 at approx 2:00pm.
Cost: $25.00/person for passage on the ferry.
Food: See below (or ask an adult leader for help)
What to Bring:
Food: This
is a backpacking event. Participants will be asked to bring in
thier own food.
Everything you need MUST be packed in or
attached to your backpack. NO EXCEPTIONS!.
Loose articles such as pillows, coolers, pads, etc. will not be
allowed. Sleeping bags must be
secured to your backpack so you can carry your own stuff.
You will be hiking in approx 1
mile from the ferry to the campsite with all your stuff so
you absolutely MUST travel light.
Water: Each person should bring at least
(4) 12oz bottles of water. We will supply additional
water so there will be plenty. We will also have a fire for cooking, NO propane
tanks are allowed
on the ferry, so dont try to take them.
Meals will be as follows;
Fri: Snack, Drink
Sat: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snack, Drinks
Sun: Breakfast, Drink
Breakfast ideas; Pop Tarts, Breakfast bars, Hard boiled eggs,
fruit, etc.
Snack ideas; Chips, cookies, crackers, etc.
Lunch ideas; Sandwitches, Hot dogs, Drink
boxes, Water.
Dinner ideas; Canned Meals
like Pasta, Ravioli, or Stew work well.
or this preferred scouting favorite;
** Foil Pack
-- Cubed raw potatoes, carrots, onions, and/or other veggies.
-- Frozen hamburg pattie, pork chop, or chicken breast.
-- 1 tblspoon of margarine or butter.
-- Double wrap tightly in aluminum foil and freeze solid.
-- Place in ziplock bag and move from freezer to backpack just
before leaving home.
-- Cooks on fire in about 30 minutes. Yum!
